The Nepali Ghar is a hand-crafted experience envisioned by the founder Mr. Raju Shrestha, who seeks to invite every guest into his Nepali Ghar, and help them feel the warmth of Nepali hospitality, as if they were visiting someone’s personal abode. The property boasts of beautiful Nepali architecture and is an ode to the traditional wood carving skills of the communities innate to Kathmandu valley. Each piece of furniture is a statement piece, reflecting hundreds of years of knowledge in wood carpentry, seamlessly blended with the comforts of the modern world. Safety is of the utmost importance to us, and we have set protocols around fire and other emergencies. The property is equipped with a Fitness Center, High-Speed Wi-Fi, Executive Meeting Rooms, All-Day Dining, Room Service, an oasis of a Terrace Garden, and a luxurious bed for a restful night’s sleep after a long day of work or travel.

About Nepali Ghar Hotel

The great lake of Kathmandu Valley transformed herself into a beautiful land against the backdrop of the magnificent Himalayas, after the mountains cleaved to drain-off water to the last drop. This great event occurred about 2000 years ago. Human habitation proliferated and so did the architectural styles for their abodes. Strangely, there were some commonalities which were unique and carried on for centuries as core defining elements of Nepalese Architecture.

Mid-nineteenth century saw elites travelling to foreign lands bringing back with them new styles. Thus evolved a fusion architecture – a homogeneous mix of foreign and core elements of Nepalese style maintaining the scale and the rich color palette of the traditions. Recently, a deluge of buildings brought a whiff of foreign styles leading to a new style of development of Architecture.

Nepali Ghar punctuates the new trend and breezes an ode to Nepalese traditional styles with its unique scale and color mosaic lending a continuum to the defining elements of traditional architecture. These elements afford a warm and homely environment for the visitors to carry back nostalgic memories to cherish the visit.

The Executive suites gets its inspiration from Kailashkut Bhawan, an artistic palace built by the Lichhavi King Amshuverma. The two executive suites are an ode to the golden period of Nepal, and the Lichavvi dynasty, names after 2 of the 3 courtyards of the vedic Tripura style palace. The Kailaishkut suite is spread over 630 square foot, has a separate living room area, private balcony, relaxing Jacuzzi and premium spa products in the room.
