Jhinu Danda Trek is the shortest and easiest trekking route of Annapurna region. Jhinu Danda is located on the top of a hill which is popular due to its natural hot spring. You can visit the natural hot spring of Jhinu on this trek. On this trek, the panoramic mountain views of Mt. Fishtail, Annapurna South, Annapurna 2nd along with Dhaulagiri Himal and the unique culture of Gurung and Magar can be observed. This trek starts from Phedi and ends at Nayapul.

Brief Itinerary:

Day 01: Pokhara/Phedi drive and trek to Pothana (1840m) 4/5 hours
Day 02: Pothana to Landruk (1590m) 4/5 hours
Day 03: Landruk to Jhinu Danda (1750m) 4/5 hours
Day 04: Jhinu Danda to Ghandruk (1950m) 3/4 hours
Day 05: Ghandruk to Nayapul ( 5 hrs walk) and drive to Pokhara(90 minutes drive)

Day 01: Pokhara to Phedi drive and trek to Pothana (1890m) 4/5 Hours

After having breakfast, we drive to Phedi which takes approximately 45 minutes with the view of Annapurna south, Gangapurna, Annapurna 2nd and Mardi Himal and trek to Pothana.From here, the way gently climbs up through the lower Dhampus village with the beautiful scenery of Naudanda, Sarangkot, Annapurna 2nd and Mardi Himal. After 2 hours of steep ascending, we will arrive at upper Dhampus village where you will be rewarded with the beautiful mountain views of Fishtail, Annapurna 2nd and Annapurna south if the weather is clear. We will stop here for lunch and after that the trail is easy and flat. We go through the small village and green forest with the superb views of the mountains. Before reaching Pothana, the way is a bit uphill and at the end of the day, we will get to a small beautiful village called Pothana where we spend a night.

Day 02: Trek from Pothana to Landruk (1590 M) 4/5 Hours

Pothana a small beautiful village is located on the top of the hill from where you can see the best views of Annapurna south, fishtail, Annapurna 2nd and Pokhara valley. From here the trail goes through green forest with easy walking. After 1 hours of walking through green forest, we will get to a small beautiful village called Deurali which is the main junction for ABC and Mardi Himal trek. You can see the breathtaking scenery of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and fishtail very clearly if the weather is fine. From here, the way descends down through jungle with stone stairs passing small tea houses and stream and finally arrives at Tolka. Tolka is a beautiful village of Gurung and Magar from here, we walk through small villages with the panoramic views of Ghandruk village and Annapurna south. We will arrive at a huge Gurung and Magar village called Landruk at last where we spend a night at lodge.

Day 03: Trek from Landruk to Jhinu Danda (1750m) 4/5 Hours

Landruk is a beautiful village from where the way descends down, crosses a wooden bridge and then goes through small bushes and jungle along the bank of Modi River with the beautiful scenery of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and natural water falls. We crosses Modi River on a long suspension bridge and arrive at New Bridge. From here, the way is uphill and flat which passes through small bamboo trees. The way continues goes through the bamboo trees and get to a small tea house where you can see a new long suspension bridge under construction. As the bridge is done, Jhinu is near and takes only 10 minutes through the bridge. But for now, the way descends down and crosses the river then climbs up to Jhinu which may take 1 hours. We stay a night at Jhinu Danda.

Day 04: Trek from Jhinu Danda to Ghandruk (1950m) 3/4 Hours

Jhinu Danda is famous for Hot Spring where you can get few nice lodges to spend a night. From here, we return back through the same way, crosses the river and then gently ascends through through a tiny bamboo trees. The way is up and flat and continues along the road and crosses a small stream from where we take or follow the small walking trail through wheat and barley terraces. The entire way is slightly uphill and at the end of the day we will arrive at a beautiful Gurung village called Ghandruk where we spend a night.

Day 05: Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul (5 hrs walking) and drive to Pokhara (90 minutes drive)

Ghandruk is a huge Gurung village where you can visit old and new Gurung museum to know about the typical Gurung culture. From here, the way descends down to Syaulibazaar with the beautiful views of fishtail, Tolka and Landruk village. From Syaulibazaar the way is flat goes along the road of Jeep and finally arrives at Nayapul. You can get jeep or local bus from Ghandruk to Pokhara or Nayapul as well. But most of the tourist want to walk on foot till Nayapul. We will get on a private vehicle and return back to Pokhara and spend a night there.
